A Slice of Saturday Night: Sam's Pizza with 50% Off

Saturday night pizza just hits different—especially when there’s a great deal involved. With 50% off pizzas at Sam’s, it made perfect sense to dine in and enjoy a full spread without breaking the bank. Here’s how it all played out.

The Meal Rundown

We started with a half-pound of original Brothers Pepperoni ($10), which never disappoints. For the main event, we started with two extra-large cheese pizzas, added our own toppings, and grabbed a bottle of 7Up ($4) to share.

What We Ordered:
2 x Cheese Pizzas – $50
Pizza #1: Bacon, pepperoni, green pepper – $7.75
Pizza #2: Bacon, pepperoni, ground beef, and feta – $15.15

Add-on: 4 x 1oz of feta ($1.85) – $7.40

After a $32.60 promotional discount and $7.54 in tax, the final total came to $61.50.

No Photos—Just Hunger

We were all too hungry to think about pictures. The pizzas arrived hot and fresh, with crispy yet tender crusts and golden, evenly cooked tops. Toppings were plentiful and well-balanced, adding both texture and flavor to every bite.

Pizza #2 Was the Crowd Favourite

Out of the two pizzas, Pizza #2 (bacon, pepperoni, ground beef, feta) stood out. Bowman, Tobi, and I couldn’t get enough—it hit all the right notes. Rich, meaty, perfectly balanced, and just plain satisfying. We didn’t even touch the other pizza once we started in on this one.

Pizza #1—topped with bacon, pepperoni, and green pepper—was mostly for Savannah, since she avoids feta. That worked out perfectly, since it meant leftovers for the next day, and we’re not complaining.

Rating for Pizza #2: 10/10. I genuinely can’t think of a single thing that would’ve made it better.

Crust Quality Has Stepped Up

Historically, I haven’t been wowed by the crust at Sam’s, or any other Pictou County pizza, but something changed about a year or so ago. Now, it’s noticeably better—light, crisp, and flavorful. Whatever they tweaked, it’s a welcome improvement.

For Non-Locals: What Is "Pictou County Pizza"?

If you’re not from the area, here’s a quick note: “Pictou County pizza” isn’t just the name of a restaurant—it’s a regional style. There is a place called Pictou County Pizza, but long before it opened, several other local pizzerias were already serving, and popularizing this the iconic style that this county is known for.

Pictou County pizza typically features a thick, hearty crust, rich brown sauce, and generous layers of toppings and cheese. It’s a distinct and proud part of the local food scene.

Final Thoughts

With a solid deal, great execution, and enough food for leftovers, this Saturday night pizza run was well worth it. The meal delivered on taste, quantity, and value—and we’ll definitely be back in the very near future.

Pro tip: Try the extra-large with bacon, pepperoni, ground beef, and feta. It might just become your go-to combo too.
